Kratos Names Joe McGettigan as Technical Services Business Unit Vice President

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that Wayne Rogers, Vice President of the Technical Services business unit for the Kratos Defense Engineering Solutions (KDES) Division, is retiring in February of 2012. Mr. Joseph (Joe) McGettigan has joined Kratos and will fulfill Mr. Rogers' duties as Vice President of Technical Services for KDES. Mr. McGettigan will work from the KDES Division's Dahlgren, VA office. His leadership will also extend to the Kratos Quantico, VA office. Mr. McGettigan brings 29 years of leadership experience to Kratos, including 26 years of acquisition experience with the U.S. Navy and the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

Prior to joining Kratos, Mr. McGettigan served as the Deputy for Weapons Engineering at NAVSEA, where he was responsible for the Combat Systems technical authority for surface combatants. Mr. McGettigan led a team of 14 U.S. Navy experts in weapons systems technology to ensure safe and effective operations. Mr. McGettigan's experience also includes serving as the Director of the Engineering and Weapons Division at the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was responsible for 250 instructors and 2,000 engineering students as well as the engineering facilities at the Naval Academy. He also served as the Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). In this capacity, he led 5,000 civilian scientists and engineers performing research, development, testing and certification of weapons systems with a $1.4 billion annual budget. Mr. McGettigan instituted a LEAN process resulting in over $20 million saved in the first year and he also led the strategic planning process introducing a new Warfare Center business model.

Mr. McGettigan graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a B.S. in Naval Architecture. Mr. McGettigan also holds two Master's Degrees: an M.S. in Undersea Warfare Systems Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School, as well as an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
