WFI Awarded UMTS Network Upgrade Project From Major National Wireless Carrier
NEW ORLEANS, March 14, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- San Diego-based Wireless Facilities, Inc. (WFI) (Nasdaq: WFII), a global leader in the design, deployment and management of wireless communication networks, technology networks and security systems, announced today at the CTIA Wireless 2005 Show in New Orleans that the Company has been awarded a contract for UMTS RF design services from a major national wireless carrier. Under the terms of the award, WFI will assist in the upgrade and deployment of UMTS network technology throughout the U.S. over the next two years. The project will commence immediately.
Specifically, WFI will perform a range of network deployment and optimization services including benchmarking, drive testing, UMTS RF design services, software installation and integration and complete project and vendor management. Further terms of the award were not disclosed.
