Kratos' NeuralStar Chosen to Manage U.S. Intelligence Network
SAN DIEGO, Oct 13, 2009 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading national security, information technology and public safety solutions provider, today announced that the Company has secured a contract to provide its flagship network management product, NeuralStar(R), to the U.S. intelligence community, supporting a next generation collaboration network for agencies of the United States Federal Government. (Neither the specific agency nor the financial terms were disclosed.)
NeuralStar, an enterprise network management platform that monitors all network-connected hardware, applications and security systems, will be used as a frontline operations manager for a newly developed network that will enable information sharing amongst intelligence community partners.
"The importance of collaboration means that organizations are using their networks to empower new flows of information beyond the conventional bounds of the enterprise. This requires a more comprehensive, robust way to manage and protect the integrity of this data and the functions of these systems," said Phil Carrai, Executive Vice President of Kratos' Information Technology Solutions division. "In this paradigm of new policies, access rights and equipment integration, NeuralStar has proven it can provide the command and control for the convergence of IP, wireless, satellite, and innumerable devices and network elements."
NeuralStar is deployed in some of the largest and most complex, mission-critical environments in the world including the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Ballistic Missile Defense Agency and BNSF. A platform for situational awareness of cyber, network, and system operations, NeuralStar provides integrated security, fault, performance, and configuration event and analysis.
About NeuralStar(R)
In a world increasingly conscious of cybersecurity and IT performance demands, the need for better information sharing and situational awareness are placing new pressures on today's network managers. NeuralStar provides enterprises with the ability to view and manage networks for all technologies, devices and protocols, ensuring continuity of network operations and high-level visibility in a single, real-time dashboard.
NeuralStar resolves management challenges across data-voice-video, wireless-wireline, satellite-ground and other elements, offering a command and control view of distributed networks. It monitors all network-connected devices, such as hardware, applications and security systems, providing managers a window into all network resources, placing operators just clicks away from any network element or management tool to respond proactively to threats. Among other key customers, NeuralStar is used by DISA as the primary software component to manage the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), the IT and telecom infrastructure for all U.S. defense operations.
