Kratos' RT Logic Introduces Family of Cyber Security Products for Satellite Ground Networks

CyberC4™ Product Suite Addresses Equipment Hardening, Insider Threat and Situational Awareness

Products to be Introduced at National Space Symposium, Colorado Springs, CO
April 16-19, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc.(Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its RT Logic subsidiary released CyberC4TM, a family of cyber security products designed specifically for the satellite industry. The new products address the increased vulnerabilities as satellite networks continue to become more netcentric, targeting the major cyber security gaps that can impede missions.

The product suite includes: CyberC4:Armor for hardening SATCOM equipment against exploits; CyberC4:Capture for protecting against insider threats; CyberC4:Alert for network-wide, real-time cyber security situational awareness; and CyberC4:Guard for AFSCN-related communications across black and red domains within secure networks. Each is available for standalone use, while also integrated together as a unified and layered "defense in-depth" solution for information and mission assurance.

"The migration of satellite ground networks to IP-based technologies is delivering tremendous benefits in cost, performance, and interoperability, but along with increased cyber security risks," said Jerry Meleski, Vice President of RT Logic. "With the CyberC4 family of products, RT Logic is addressing that problem for our customers across the various cyber attack surfaces."

As an integrated solution, CyberC4 products provide a system-wide approach to the range of threats to satellite ground networks, from typical to worst-case scenarios. For example, suppose that a user with system administrator credentials logs onto a workstation, gaining root-level access and inadvertently (or intentionally) inserts a malware-infected thumb drive. The Armor-hardened device is designed to provide immediate host-level protection by denying the malware execution. Capture is designed to monitor and record the attempted breach, securely logging the keystroke and video evidence for forensic and prosecution purposes. Network administrators and security officers can review the video in Alert's situational awareness dashboard, where it is consolidated with other cyber security data from across the network to help correlate with related events.

The CyberC4 product family includes the following:

-    CyberC4:Armor hardens Linux-based SATCOM processors, modems, recorders, and other equipment from RT Logic and select additional manufacturers to protect sensitive systems. Using military grade system hardening and anti-tamper technology, Armor is designed to protect against the most sophisticated reverse engineering, tampering, and cyber attacks, including zero-day exploits, execution of unauthorized code, and high-risk insider threats.

-    CyberC4:Capture is a real-time monitoring and recording system for detering and protecting against insider threats. It is engineered to capture and record instrumented user sessions (using PC video-out and keystrokes), which are time-stamped and keyword searchable for incident response, forensic investigations, training, and quality assurance.

-    CyberC4:Alert is the first Security Information Event Manager (SIEM) optimized for satellite network operations. Its function is to collect, analyze and report on security events throughout the network for internal and external threat management, DIACAP compliance, and forensics. By continuously monitoring cyber security threats and security controls through a single configurable dashboard, CyberC4:Alert is designed to provide network administrators and information security officers with real-time, network-wide situational awareness for cyber security, incident response, and mission assurance.

This all-in-one appliance is designed for military, government, and commercial SATCOM environments. Currently, more than 80% of military satellite communications engage commercial satellite infrastructure, making DIACAP compliance a critical necessity for commercial as well as governmental and defense organizations.

-    CyberC4:Guard is a cost-effective, low-risk, high-assurance Cross Domain Solution designed to provide cross domain isolation at the PL3 and PL4 levels for control centers that utilize the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) and/or dedicated remote tracking stations. Past approaches of segmented operations, firewalls, optical isolation, and data diodes are no longer viable; therefore, trusted guards are now required. CyberC4:Guard employs a single AFSCN Core Rule Set to exchange formatted message traffic between security domains.

RT Logic is a leading provider of innovative products for ground stations, satellite test equipment and satellite operations. RT Logic's products are trusted on over 85% of space missions.

The CyberC4 products will be demonstrated at Kratos' booth # 408 at The National Space Symposium, http://www.nationalspacesymposium.org/about in Colorado Springs, April 16-19, 2012. For more information on the CyberC4 products, please visit www.RTLogic.com/cyber
